StorQuest Self Storage Utilizes Social Media Network to Raise Money for Cancer Research
StorQuest Self Storage, a portfolio of self storage properties owned and operated by The William Warren Group, Inc. (WWG), is on a mission to raise $10,000 to fund cancer research. The company is using their extensive social network on Facebook and Twitter to raise the funds, donating $1 for every interaction.
“Every person who likes StorQuest on Facebook or comments on one of our postings, gets us $1 closer to our $10,000 goal.” said Bill Hobin, president and CEO of The William Warren Group. “We are looking forward to making a substantial contribution towards cancer research and support the efforts started by a colleague in the storage industry, Barry Hoeven.”
Barry Hoeven, a friend of the William Warren Group and self storage industry veteran, is the founder of Kure It, an independent non-profit organization supporting research on kidney cancer and other orphan cancers. Barry was diagnosed with kidney cancer in 1998 while on a family vacation and has been battling the disease ever since. StorQuest saw the contributions the organization is making and felt compelled to contribute to the cause.
StorQuest realized that the best way to make a difference was to enlist the help of the company’s biggest supporters – their social network. The company has a history of leading the storage industry in social media outreach with almost twice as much online engagement as its competitors and this partnership with Kure It has only increased the growth.
StorQuest’s social media campaign has driven more than 6,000 interactions on Facebook and over 500 interactions on Twitter since the inception of the program. According to Klout.com, a service that measures users’ online influence on a scale from 1 to 100, StorQuest has increased its social media by 17% in only 2 months.
“In the past few years, self storage has mastered reaching audiences on social networks. Being a part of the Kure It campaign has shown our online followers the human side of StorQuest that genuinely cares about the trying challenges in life. Whether individuals are struggling with a family member being diagnosed with cancer or simply need self-storage for a life change, StorQuest has your back.” said Hobin.
