SANTA MONICA, Calif. — Sept. 8, 2026 — William Warren Group (WWG), parent company of StorQuest Self Storage, today announced that Founder and Chief Executive Officer Bill Hobin has been named to the Self Storage Hall of Fame, the industry’s highest individual honor, presented by the Self Storage Association Foundation. Hobin will be formally inducted as a member of the Class of 2026 during the SSA Fall Conference & Trade Show at the Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas on Thursday, Sept. 10, at 10:15 a.m.
Established in 2005, the Hall of Fame recognizes self storage pioneers, innovators and respected entrepreneurs for distinguished accomplishments, sustained industry contributions and service. Hobin’s selection honors a career spanning more than 30 years and an impact reaching across development, operations, technology and sustainability.
Beginning with the management of a single self storage facility, Hobin built William Warren Group into one of the nation’s largest privately-owned self storage organizations. Over the course of his career, he has managed self storage assets in more than 20 states. The company currently operates more than 265 facilities across 16 states under the StorQuest Self Storage brand, with a portfolio valued at more than $3.5 billion.
“I am deeply honored to be inducted into the Self Storage Hall of Fame,” said Hobin. “This recognition reflects more than 30 years spent alongside remarkable partners, colleagues and friends who have helped shape both my career and this industry. I am grateful to the Self Storage Association for an honor I will always cherish.”
Beyond WWG’s growth, Hobin has played a significant role in advancing the broader self storage industry. He was instrumental in founding the California Self Storage Association, now the largest state storage association in the nation, and served as its President from 2002 to 2006. He has been a longtime contributor, sponsor and supporter of the national Self Storage Association, and currently serves as chair of the SSA Foundation Board of Governors, which has raised more than $4 million for scholarships supporting self storage employees and their children.
“Bill has spent three decades innovating and transforming the self storage business. He built a brand, a platform, and continues to push the standards of excellence in our industry to higher and higher levels,” said Gary Sugarman, Principal and Chief Operating Officer of William Warren Group and 2025 Chairman of the California Self Storage Association. “Anyone who has worked alongside Bill knows that this honor could not be more well deserved.”
Hobin has also championed innovation in operating systems, remote facility management and brand building, while remaining deeply committed to mentorship and the exchange of ideas across the industry. His philanthropic and environmental work includes support for One Tree Planted, SeaTrees, Life Rolls On, and other community organizations.
